One of our most recent and creatively fulfilling projects has been for Mowlem Primary School, a vibrant and inclusive school located in London.
From logo design to personalised certificates and promotional materials, we’ve worked closely with the leadership team at Mowlem to develop a cohesive, engaging brand identity that reflects the school’s values and supports its positive behaviour strategy. In this blog, we’re excited to share a closer look at the school’s new behaviour and achievement certificates, including how we helped bring their ideas to life.
A Visual Identity Rooted in Values
Before producing any printed materials for Mowlem Primary School, we were entrusted with developing a brand-new school logo. This was a key part of the school’s wider rebranding and values-led initiative. The logo had to reflect the school’s energy, creativity and inclusive spirit — and be memorable and meaningful to both pupils and the wider school community.

To visually represent these values, we incorporated five distinctively coloured butterflies into the final logo design — one butterfly for each value. Butterflies were chosen to symbolise growth, transformation, and the flourishing of young minds — all key themes in Mowlem’s vision for its pupils. The result was a vibrant, modern logo that not only looks beautiful in print but also carries deep symbolic meaning.
Behaviour and Celebration Certificates: Designed with Purpose
With the new branding established, the next step was to design and produce a series of school certificates that could be used to promote and reward positive behaviour and outstanding pupil achievement.
The school’s aim was to make these certificates more than just paper handouts — they wanted them to be special, high-quality rewards that children would feel proud to receive and take home. We were delighted to help bring this vision to life with a set of professionally printed, full-colour certificates, each carefully aligned with the school’s values and visual identity.
Silver and Gold Behaviour Certificates
Two of the key certificates we developed were Silver and Gold Behaviour Awards, designed to recognise pupils who consistently demonstrate exceptional behaviour in school.
These certificates feature:
- The school’s new logo and colour scheme
- Dedicated space for the pupil’s name, reason for award, and teacher signature
- Silver and gold foil-effect detailing for an extra-special touch
- Clean, contemporary layout with bold type and elegant spacing
The idea behind these awards is to visibly celebrate the behaviour that reflects the school's ethos, giving pupils something tangible to work towards.
"Outstanding Work" Certificate
Alongside the behaviour awards, we also designed an Outstanding Work certificate to be presented when pupils go above and beyond in their learning — whether through a fantastic piece of writing, creative artwork, problem-solving, or simply showing persistence and effort in their studies.
This certificate maintains consistency with the school’s branding while standing out with a slightly different layout to distinguish it from behaviour-related awards.
It includes:
- Prominent heading and value symbols
- Customised wording specific to outstanding academic or creative effort
- Professional fonts and design flourishes to reflect the importance of the accolade
High-Quality Printing and Finishing
At The School Print Company, we know that presentation matters — especially when you're giving out certificates meant to inspire pride and motivation. That’s why all of Mowlem’s certificates were printed using the latest high-quality printing processes.
We used premium white card stock that offers a beautiful finish while remaining sturdy enough for pupils to take home, pin on the wall, or keep as part of a school portfolio. The smooth matte finish means that writing on the certificates — with pens or markers — is effortless and smudge-free.
We also provided optional lamination for those schools who prefer a more glossy, durable finish, though for this project the matte finish gave just the right feel of formality and class.

School Prospectus Brochures
A professionally designed and printed prospectus is a key tool for any school — particularly when engaging with new families, prospective pupils, and the wider community. Mowlem’s prospectus was designed in line with their new branding, incorporating vibrant photography, clean layout, and inspiring language that reflects the school’s inclusive and aspirational ethos.
We used high-quality paper and full-colour printing, as well as a laminated cover for durability and a polished appearance. These brochures are now a key part of the school’s open evening materials and information packs.
Branded Letterheads
For day-to-day communication, we also supplied Mowlem Primary School with branded school stationery, including school letterheads, school compliment slips and other printed templates. These materials use the new logo and fonts to ensure a consistent, professional image across all correspondence — whether it’s going to parents, local authorities, or external visitors.
